Sitting in the house a bit bored I thought I would look at a DVD. What to look at was the question at hand. After looking through the titles I have stacked away in my DVD holders I decided to look at Underworld with Kate Beckinsale wearing the poured on outfit that she just had to wear to make her look sexy. And I mean sexy, or what! The movie also has a good story line to it as well.
I must look at the sequel next while I am in the mood.
There hasn’t been much happening this week except for the dishwasher breaking down. Last week it was the burst pipe in the ceiling leaving me with a bleddy big hole in the ceiling to be fixed (insurance job, awaiting money to be transferred to my bank) and then of course there was the leaking toilet cistern. I was able to fix that myself so there was no expense there. I do have to look at the shower upstairs as I have been told that the water pressure is not good (I use the shower downstairs where the water pressure is great) As I don’t use the upstairs bathroom I have to wait to be told that there is something wrong. We are still awaiting the conservatory company who are building next door to come and power hose our conservatory roof thanks to the mess the builders have left. As a result we can hardly see through the roof of our own due to brick dust etc. I would like that done before Christmas.
Another little job that I have just finished is writing my Christmas cards. Now these are the ones that I, personally, send out. Not the ones that are sent out from the family that my wife does. Anyone receiving a card from me is honoured. All I have to do is post the damn things (if they don’t arrive it means I haven’t posted them. Maybe next year) I need to go out sometime and do my Xmas shopping soon otherwise it will be too late.
I am getting out more by myself for walks with the dogs (I only take one at a time as I can’t manage both of them at the same time) It is giving me the exercise I need for my wee heart muscle and it gets the dogs out at the same time. Two birds with one stone. The main thing is it seems to be working as I find I can walk further and further each day without the stress. Can only be a good thing.
Don’t worry if you don’t hear from me for a few days. I have been busy trying to track down some very special, mega mega rare, collectible Rolling Stones CD’s. There are 13 of them in this set and so far I have managed to get 1. Another 12 to go but it will take time (and money) to get this set together. Unless of course you want to help me find them. If so let me know.
For now back to Ebay.

Will I Be Lucky Or not Lucky
Indeed. I have taken the notion to add yet more stuff to my ever growing Rolling Stones collection. Apart from being given stuff or trading stuff the best way to get stuff is to go to Ebay. I have been looking on Ebay over the past couple of days and I have picked out stuff ready for the taking. All I have to do is be patient. Of the 12 items I have in my sights I hope to get all 12. In reality I will be lucky to get 6 of them. The other 6 items will have to wait until another day unless, of course, nobody else is bidding against me which means I will get everything I want. Great innit! Then again, I might not get any of the stuff at all. (I’m not that stupid to keep bidding just to show the other fecker I’m richer than him / her) We will wait and see. What’s that I hear you ask? What am I bidding on? There’s no way I am going to answer that. You might want to bid against me. No way hose say.
Last night wife and I went up to town to a show at the Waterfront Hall. Before that we went to have a bite to eat at a Burger Bar. Not just any Burger Bar but the Gourmet Burger Bar. My wife had a Cheese Burger with Bacon. Nice. I had a Kiwi Burger. What! Never had a Kiwiw Burger. I thoroughly recommend that you drop everything and go out and get one, now. Just to whet your appetite I will list the ingredients of a Kiwi Burger. In between the bap there is the following ingredients: burger / bacon / fried egg / lettuce / onion / pineapple / pickle / kiwi fruit / beetroot. How the feck one is supposed to lift this with one’s hands and eat it without making a complete mess of things I have no idea. I used the knife and fork supplied and got stuck in. It was absolutely delicious. And. And. What’s more. I finished it! The whole feckin’ thing. It’s not often we go out for a burger but I am really looking forward to the next time we are up in Belfast so that I can try another one of The Gourmet Burger Bar’s delightful offerings. The show at The Waterfront Hall wasn’t bad either. It was a comedy act. Some Irish guy called Ed Byrne. Very funny indeed actually.
While I’m sitting here writing this gack I am patiently waiting for some man to call. Either phone me or actually call at my front door with a too box in his hand. We have a leak. A leak that is very annoying as it is coming down from the dining room ceiling. That means we have a burst pipe somewhere in between the upstairs bedroom and the downstairs dining room. How bad the leak is I don’t know. It’s the actual mess it’s going to make in the fixing if the damn thing is going to be the main problem. Just as well we have insurance. Things seem to happen in 3’s. I am wondering what the 3rd thing will be. This week I have already blown every fuse in the house whilst trying to install a new micro wave oven in the kitchen. That cost me £40 for an electrician to come out and fix for me. (the house looked quite nice lit up by candle light for a while there) As I said things tend to happen in 3’s. Waiting to see!
Still reading away. Just finished the new Michael Connelly and started the new Clive Cussler last night. After that I have the new James Patterson to go and that’s me out of stuff to read. Hopefully by then it will be near Christmas and my kids will have seen my Christmas Wants list that I will just happen to to have left lying about the house. I f they don’t then I will have to make sure they do!
For now I will wait for this man to contact me, or not! As always for comments on this gack just click on the title above and scroll down to leave you witty critiques.

Right then indeed. How often, if ever, do you get a special invite to a book launch. Never? Well I got one the other day and I have just come from said book launch. It was really something. Not because there were a lot of old fogies there that I didn’t know or recognise, but because there were quite a few people there that I did and haven’t seen for soooo many years (45 in some cases) The book in question is all about this little old home town of mine and it is absolutely brilliant. The reason it is brilliant is because it is centred around growing up in Bangor in the Sixties (that is also the title of the book) and the author is Terence Bowman. What can I say? Well done Terence is one thing for sure. Will there be a Volume 2 in the offing sometime?
For any of you ex-pats out there in cyberspace who read this gack then this is one book that I thoroughly recommend. Maybe if you drop a few hints to loved ones it would make the ideal stocking filler, even if you only use it to hold the door open )as was suggested by one witty so and so at the launch) Should you wish to look this up on the net then go to http://www.cottage-publications.com/store/shop.cgi/page=pg0000.html and you can order directly from the publisher. Enjoy.
Away from that. What’s been happening elsewhere now. This week I have been busying myself moving The Collection. So far I have managed everything except the 7” / !0” / 12” vinyl singles. The 10” and 12” vinyl albums. The promo discs and the CD singles and albums. The big problem is, I am fast running out of space. I just didn’t realise that The Collection had grown to the size it has, and there’s still loads more to be added in the future. (not only the stuff that I buy or trade but also the stuff that people, like yourselves, kindly donate) (hint hint) Whilst doing all this my wife and I have been going through all the other gack that has been accumulating in cupboards and boxes over the years. Yep! What we thought we would need for evermore has now come to its’ end of life. It’s being shredded (the personnel documents anyway) and the other thrown in the blue bin (always being aware of re-cycling in this household). As a result of all this hard work our house seems to be expanding somewhat. Great, innit!
One of the things that I did come across was, (cringe, cringe) a handbill featuring me. What was the handbill for I hear you all ask? For the Local Elections of course. Yes, in 1988 (May to be precise) I invited the public to an open meeting for the great public of this town to insult / abuse or cheer me on in the forthcoming local elections. Needless to say I wasn’t elected but due to proportional representation in the voting system that we have here my votes were carried forward to my running mate and she did get elected. I think maybe in a way I breathed a sigh of relief as I had been talking to a friend of mine who used to sit on the council and he explained the down side to things. And there is a down side, but I won’t bore you with them. coming back to the handbill (cringe, cringe) I am just glad my children don’t remember me in those days. I think I know why the public didn’t give me enough support, I looked like a gangster! And yes, I have the pictures to prove it but they will stay safely in my keep.
With that thought I will leave you all
Here’s lookin’ at ya kid (Jimmy Cagney impersonation. You need to use a bit of imagination)
